Sports Day Libberton PS joined us for our annual sports day. The weather was kind to us, and we had a brilliant day. We had a morning of team building, netball and dance. Thank you to Mrs Wearden and Mrs Hodge for our wonderful lunch. Our sprots day at the field was a great success and was finished with a Tug’o’War battle. Well done everyone! World of Work Day We joined Libberton PS for a World of Work Day. The children enjoyed learning about different careers such as plumbing, farming, owning a restaurant and being a Fireman with an extra special surprise of the fire engine being in the school grounds. Attachment-Informed, Trauma Sensitive Approaches
We’re proud to share that we have now achieved our fifth pledge (jigsaw piece), Respond with Compassion. This is something we’ve worked incredibly hard to achieve, with all staff completing training in emotion coaching and embedding this approach across the school.
Dance Show
A very well done to all the children who took part in the dance show at Lanark Memorial Hall - they were outstanding! A special thank you to Kirsty (Quinn's Mum) for choreographing our 'Home Alone' performance and helping with Dance After School Club bringing it all together.
SLLC Small Schools Cross Country Tournament
It was an outstanding day at the SLLC Small Schools Cross Country Tournament at Lanark Racecourse! All our pupils made us really proud with the great effort and resilience shown. Huge thanks to all the families who came out to support the athletes on what was a fabulous morning with the sun shining! Lawson along with Craig and Sam from Libberton were awarded Bronze for the P7 Boys team award.
Participatory Budget 12.12.25
We asked children, parents and staff what they would like to spend this years Participatory Budget on and the vote was unanimous scooters and outdoor playground toys. The children got their scooters in October. The children then chose items they would like to order that they can play with indoors and outdoors. We have had a fun morning checking out our choices and learning some new skills!
05.12.2025 A Christmas Delivery

21.11.2025 - Book Week
This week we have been celebrating Scottish Book week. We joined a video call with Libberton Primary and Crawford Primary to share our book recommendations and had a book scavenger hunt. We read our class novel ’Danny the Champion of the World’ round the fire and we finished the week looking for treasures left in the forest by the ‘book fairies’ 31.10.2025- Leadhills Visit
On Thursday we had a great day visiting Leadhills. Our first stop was the Miners Library where Cameron told us about its fascinating history. After that we caught up with Fiona who has been working on our stained glass design. Finally we met Martin at the lead mining railway where we all got a chance to drive a train!
We would like to extend a big thank you to all our hosts plus the pupils and staff at Leadhills Primary where we spent break time and lunchtime. They all made us feel very welcome 09.10.2025 - Water Wheel
We brought our learning to life this week as we took inspiration from our New Lanark topic to design, build and test our own water wheel. Before venturing out we learned about hydroelectricity and how it turns potential energy into kinetic energy and then electric energy. Soggy socks all round!
